Thomas Garrett Flanagan, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Flanagan of 610 Fifth avenue, passed away this morning at his home, after a brief illness of pneumonia.

The deceased was born in Clinton on July 17, 1886. He was educated in the Clinton public schools and eleven years ago became associated with his father in the real estate business, under the firm name of Flanagan & Son. He was an energetic and capable business man, and contributed largely to the success of the firm.

Last Thursday Mr. Flanagan was called to Bellevue on business. He returned in the evening and during the night was taken ill. He became rapidly worse, and pneumonia quickly developed. During the past day or two his illness assumed so serious a form that there was small hope of his recovery, and his brothers and sister were sent for. At 8:30 o'clock this morning he passed quietly away.

Surviving him are his parents, two sisters, Miss Eleanor Flanagan of Stevens Point, Wis., and Miss Sybil Flanagan, at home; and three brothers, Cullen of Gary, Indiana, Leo of Baltimore and Jed Flanagan of Chicago.

"Tom" Flanagan, as he was always known among his friends, was of a most genial and kindly disposition, and won and retained the friendship of all who knew him, while devotion to his parents and his home was a conspicuous trait of his character. He was exceedingly popular in Clinton, where he was born, and spent his entire life, and the intelligence of his death today brought sincere grief to hundreds of friends.

The funeral arrangements will be announced Thursday.
