Remains Taken to Cedar Rapids--Details of Deplorable Accident Not Known
Clifford L. Dodson, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Dodson of 876 Camanche avenue, was accidentally killed on the Chicago & Northwestern road near Blairstown this morning. The remains are at the Beatty undertaking rooms in Cedar Rapids, and will be brought here this evening. The funeral probably will be held Friday or Saturday.The exact manner in which the young Clinton man met his death is not known. He was employed by the Northwestern as passenger brakeman, and went west on No. 7 Monday night at 11:30 o'clock. The crew of train No. 8, east-bound, discovered his body, lying beside the railroad tracks, and took it to Cedar Rapids. He was braking on the rear end of the train, and either fell from the coach, or was struck by a train while flagging. The fatal accident took place east of Blairstown.
Intelligence of the young brakeman's death was heard with sincere regret by his hundreds of friends in Clinton this morning. The deceased was born in this city 24 years ago, and spent most of his life here. He entered the employ of the Northwestern five years ago, and was unmarried. Surviving him are his parents, a brother, Wesley Dodson, of Gary, Ind., and four sisters, Evelyn, Luella and Alice Dodson, and Mrs. C. E. Bartow, all of this city.
Mr. Dodson, father of the deceased, left a week ago for a visit with relatives in Dornston, Pa. He was wired of his son's death this morning. Until his arrival the funeral arrangements will not be announced.

The funeral of Clifford Dodson, the young railroad brakeman who met accident death near Blairstown Monday night, will be held at his home, 876 Camanche avenue, Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Charles Burkhart of the First Christian church will officiate.
Mr. and Mrs. Wesey Dodson, a brother, and little son Robert of Gary, Ind., arrived Tuesday. The father, who was visiting in Pennsylvania, is expected home tonight.
The body of Mr. Dodson was brought to Clinton by C. E. Bartow Tuesday evening.

Funeral services for Clifford Dodson were held today at the home of his father, L. H. Dodson on Camanche avenue. The Rev. Charles Burkhart of the First Christian church officiated.
Pallbearers were Ellis Potter, Waterloo; A. Swanson, W. Johnson, W. Walton, W. Dally and H. Logsdon.
Attending the service from out of the city are: Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Dodson and little son, Gary, Ind.; Mrs. Jacob Brand, Eagle Grove; Ellis Potter, Waterloo; Mrs. H. E. Sawyer, Clarence.
