News has reached this city of the death of Gerhart Waldorf who passed away at his home in Dubuque Monday morning following an illness of about seven months' duration. He was well known here having made his home in this city for a number of years.
The deceased was born in New York about 61 years ago and has been a resident of Dubuque for some time. For a number of years he was employed by the Dubuque Brewing company and he has many friends here and in that city who will be grieved to learn of his death.
Surviving him are the following relatives, his wife, two sons, Bert and George, three daughters, Mrs. Nora Marty and Mrs. J. Duffy all of Dubuque, his aged father, Nick Waldorf of this city, also two sisters, Mrs. Nic Nusbaum of this city and Mrs. Richard Rickle of Breda, Iowa.
Funeral services were held in Dubuque at Sacred Heart church on Tuesday morning at 10:30 with Father Bolding reading the mass and burial was made in Mount Calvary cemetery at that place.
Mrs. J. Waldorf of this city attended the funeral returning home Wednesday.
