John L. “Jack” McQueen, age 88 of Clinton, passed away Friday, August 2, 2019 at Mercy One Medical Center. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday August 6th at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Cravatte, Kurt Robson, Kris Kalina, Ted Tornow and Ben Evers. Honorary pallbearer is Brian McQueen.

Jack was born in Bloomington, Illinois on October 20, 1930, the son of James and Oressa (Goken) McQueen. He married Oleeta “Sue” Pool on November 20, 1954. Sue passed away January 9, 2019. Jack served with the US Army in Korea during the Korean War from September 1951 thru March 1953. He had been employed at Smith Goodyear, Machael Oil Company, Montgomery Wards and as the store manager at Diamond Vogel for 19 years before retiring, having received numerous awards and vacations trips for outstanding sales. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, served on the Board of Directors of the Clinton Baseball Club for 28 years, the Clinton Builders Club, Valley Oaks, was a 60 year member of the American Legion and served on the Advisory Council Board of the International Supreme Council of the Order of DeMolay. He enjoyed watching his grandkids sporting events and school activities, was an avid golfer and Green Bay Packer fan, and had a passion for volunteering at the Lumberking games.

Jack is survived by his two children, Jan (Richard) Reusche of Clinton and Michael (Julie) McQueen of Bettendorf; five grandchildren, Sara (Terry) Nash, Brian (Lindy) McQueen, Renae (Kris) Kalina, Jennifer McQueen and Benjamin Evers and 6 great grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Hayden Randolph, Dylan Council, Matthew Nash, Braxton McQueen and Krishel Kalina. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church or the Clinton Baseball Club.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday August 6th at the funeral home.

Funeral services will take place at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at the Pape Funeral Home.
