John McLaughlin, son-in-law of M. D. Madden, died last night of pneumonia at 10:30 o'clock at his home in Chicago. The remains are to be brought here for burial, but the exact time of the arrival of the funeral party is not yet known.

Mr. McLaughlin was well known here, as he had visited very frequently at the Madden home on the hill and had many friends, all of whom will extend sympathy to the bereaved family. For years he had conducted a grocery store in Chicago and was one of that metropolis' progressive business men.

Deceased is survived by his devoted wife, nine, children, four boys and five girls. The boys are: John Jr., Raymond, George and Eugene and the girls, Mrs. Elma Lenihan, Josephine, Helen, Bernadine and Blanche.

Mr. McLaughlin was a man of the strictest integrity, a true friend and one who was ever ready to lend a helping hand and his passing leaves not only a void in the family circle, but among his friends as well.

Miss Josephine Madden left for Chicago on receipt of the news of his critical illness and will return with the funeral party.
