J. B. Stewart received word last evening of the death of his sister, Mrs. F. S. Carr which occurred at her home in Chillicothe, Ill. on the evening of March 26.
Alice Stewart was born in Lyons on February 13, 1868 and here grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage to the Rev. E. S. Carr on Sept. 30, 1890, at which time Mr. Carr was pastor of the Lyons Congregational church. She is survived by her husband and two children, Marjorie and Richard, and by her brother, J. B. Stewart and uncle, F. C. Brayton.
Mrs. Carr was a graduate of the Lyons High school and her charming disposition has endeared her to a wide circle of friends, many of whom she retained through her long years of absence from this city, and all will be deeply pained to hear of her death. The bereaved family has the heartfelt sympathy of all.
The remains will arrive here Wednesday morning and will be taken to the home of J. B. Stewart, from whence private funeral services will be held in the afternoon followed by burial in the family lot in Oakland cemetery.

The funeral of the late Mrs. E. S. Carr was held this afternoon from the home of her brother, J. B. Stewart, and the services were in charge of Rev. N. A. McAulay of the Presbyterian church. The following acted as pallbearers: M. Potts, F. W. Leedham, A. E. Duncan, C. B. Marquis, Alexander McCullough and H. A. Roff. The remains were laid to rest in the family lot at Oakland cemetery.
Mrs. Carr was a daughter of the late Captain and Mrs. J. W. Stewart and was born in Lyons February 13, 1868. She attended the public schools graduating in 1884 and a short time later she entered kindergarten ?? In 1890 she was married to Mr. Carr who was then in charge of supervisory work. They moved to Fort Dodge and later to other Iowa points, and finally to the Illinois charge.
Mrs. Carr was an active worker in the church, a member of the University Club, of the Christian Endeavor society, and the teacher of a class of twenty young women.
Two children are left with the father. They are Marjorie and Richard.
Those present from out of the town were: Mr. and Mrs. Chas. B. Collins, Chicago; Dr. Robert McFaul, Minneapolis; Mrs. Harry Miles, Miles.
