Jane (Mrs. John) Riedesel, 85, of DeWitt, Iowa, died Monday morning July 15, 2019, at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus, Davenport.

Jane Frances Grell Riedesel was born December 26, 1933, at Grand Mound to Emil and Grace (Dierickx) Grell. She attended St. Anne's school in Grand Mound and graduated from Grand Mound High School in 1952. Jane married John Riedesel July 2, 1954, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Davenport. The couple resided at Grand Mound where they raised their family. Jane also worked at Core Vens Insurance in Clinton for many years.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Grand Mound. Jane loved to play cards, BINGO, garden and care for her family.

Surviving are her husband of 65 years, John; children, Janelle (Wayne) Goldensoph of Davenport, John Riedesel, Jr. of DeWitt, Julie (Kerry) Ayer of Wheatland, Juanita (Steve) Witt of Charlotte, Jolene (Robert) Schaefer of Goose Lake, Joel (Jean) Riedesel of Spencer, Jennifer (Richard) McDermott of Channahon, Illinois, Janice (Michael) Murphy of Long Grove, Jessica (Shawn) Mask of Bettendorf, Jason (Jayne) Riedesel of Grand Mound and Jill Riedesel of Davenport; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Marion (Jack) Schroeder, Sally Burke and Marcellus Grell all of DeWitt; numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Jane in death were her parents and a sister, Melanie Kieffer.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Schultz Funeral Home, Grand Mound from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2019. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 19, 2019, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Grand Mound with the Rev. Steve Anderson officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Mound.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, John Riedesel, III, Blaine Witt, Robert Schaefer, Jr., Tanner Riedesel, Reilly McDermott, Tyler Walrod, Will Mask and Nicholas Riedesel.
