26 September 1902 - Lowden News
Henry Keller is dead. He died on the 19 inst. in a Clinton Hospital where he had been taken that morning from his home town Wheatland for an operation. Having been afflicted with kidney and bladder trouble for a long time this malady took severe form about a week before his demise, and they took him to the hospital as the only, but very feeble, hope of his recovery. Deceased was well known in Lowden for many years and had many friends here. He was also a member of the Lowden Krieger-Verein, and the old soldiers and their families largely attended the funeral which occurred Sunday afternoon at Wheatland, with services in the Reformed Church and interment at the cemetery northeast of Wheatland. Rev. Link officiated. The funeral was well attended and many Lowden people were there besides the soldier society.
Mr. Kelly was born in Diedenhausen Prov. Westphalia, Germany. He came to America in 1871 and direct to this part of the country. He died at the age of 73 years 10 months and 18 days. He never entered the bounds of matrimony and during his late years stayed in turns with his two sisters and two brothers and their families who now survive to mourn his demise. May be rest in peace.
