Herman H. Determan died at 9:10 o'clock this morning of heart failure at his home four miles out on the Andover road. Mr. Determan has been ailing since Christmas, but was more seriously ill the past three weeks. Deceased was born in Elk River township Feb. 7, 1864, and has made his home in Clinton county ever since. He was married in 1885 and is survived by his wife, eight daughters, Mrs. John Berding, Anna, Josephine, Elsie, Mayme, Magdalen, Ludwina and Bernedetta; two sons, Benjamin and Joseph, two brothers, Frank Determan, of LeMars, Iowa, and Bernard Determan, of Remsen, Iowa, and a foster brother, Henry Simon, of Odebolt, Iowa, three sisters, Mrs. Otto Kahler of Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Anton Krumpleman and Mrs. Bernard Droste of this city.

The funeral will be held Thursday morning at 10 o'clock with services at St. Boniface church, followed by interment in St. Boniface cemetery.

The funeral of the late Herman Determann was held at St. Boniface church this morning, with a requiem mass at 10 o'clock, celebrated by Rev. Father Tritz. A large number were in attendance to pay a last tribute of respect to the deceased. The following acted as pallbearers: Henry Dieckmann, Henry Krogmann, Anton Clasemann, Clem Droste, Henry Mannemann and William Holdgraefer.
