Death came suddenly to Mrs. Caroline Werner, mother of Henry Werner of this city, at 5 o'clock this morning. She was 76 years old.

Mrs. Werner was about the house and in her usual good health Sunday evening. At 5 o'clock this morning the members of the family heard her groan, and hurried to her room to find she was beyond help. Paralysis is given as the cause.

She leaves two sons, Henry with whom she made her home and Bernhard of Goose Lake. Mr. Werner died fifty years ago. Six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive.

Mrs. Werner was born in Germany. She came to this country in 1882. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at the home. Rev. Lutz of the Zion Lutheran church will officiate.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Caroline Werner, mother of Henry Werner, at the home of her son on the Second avenue road.

Rev. A. H. Lutz officiated. Burial was in Springdale cemetery. The pallbearers were all nephews of the deceased: Theodore, Fred and Julius Zerrian, Thomas Comstock and Joseph Shradle, of this city and Theodore Hansen, of Davenport.
