Dora Comstock Wynes, 104, of Verona, WI, formerly of Clinton, Iowa, died Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at Badger Prairie Healthcare Center, Verona WI. A celebration of Dora's life will be held at 12:00PM Noon, Saturday, June 1, 2019 at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home & Crematory, visitation will be held from 11AM to noon Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Online condolences may be made by visiting snellzornig.com.
Dora Comstock was born November 21, 1914 in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of Joseph and Dora (Tschantz) Comstock. She received a piano scholarship from Beloit College and graduated from Johns Hopkins School of Nursing RN program. Dora married Robert A. Wynes March 30, 1940 in Virginia; he died January 28, 1974.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member and Deaconess at First United Presbyterian, Clinton, the Agatha Auxiliary, YWCA and Johns Hopkins Alumni Association.
Survivors include her daughter, Valerie W. (Charles R.) Kime of Madison, WI; grandchildren, Amy E. (Peter M.) Callies of Madison, WI and Gregory C. (Shelli) Kime of Portland, OR; great-grandson, Zachary Callies and great-granddaughters, Danika Kime and Kiera Kime.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
