Cyrus Holbrook King pioneer Mississippi river captain died suddenly Friday night at 7 o'clock at the home of his son Fred B. King, 514 Fourth avenue. Mr. King had been suffering with heart trouble for nearly a year and the end was not unexpected.

Captain King was 75 years old. He spent his life until ten years ago on the Mississippi river where in early years he was in the packet service. Later he was captain in the Lamb & Sons fleet, serving for years on the Lady Grace. Ten years ago he retired from active life.

Mr. King was born March 24, 1841 in Rock Island, Ill. He came to Clinton nearly forty years ago.

Left to mourn his death are his wife, Celeste King, and two sons, Fred B. of Clinton and Carl B. of Havanna, Cuba.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the home, 514 Fourth avenue. Interment will be private.

The funeral of Captain Cyrus King, a pioneer Mississippi river pilot was held Sunday afternoon at the home of his son, Fred B. King, 514 Fourth avenue.

Mr. King was 75 years old. He had been a resident of this city for forty years. He leaves his wife and two sons, Fred of Clinton and Carl of Cuba.

Burial was made in Springdale.
