Mrs. Margaret Mattsen, 68 years old, died this morning at 9 o'clock at the home of her son, Carsten Petersen, 646 Jefferson avenue.

Mrs. Mattsen was born in Germany Oct. 30, 1847 and came to America with her husband, Andrew Petersen and three children in 1881 stopping at Sandusky, O. where Mr. Petersen died in 1897. In 1898 Mrs. Petersen and children moved to Clinton, where she was married to Fred Mattsen, who with her children is left to survive her.

One son, Chris Petersen, is with Battery A at Brownsville, and has been called home. The funeral services will probably be held Saturday afternoon, in charge of the Rev. Hugo Grimm of Lyons, at the home of Carsten Petersen. Burial will be made at Springdale.

The other children are Nummie Petersen, Anton and Mrs. Lena Longhurst of Clinton and Lyons, and Miss Anna Petersen of Davenport. Nine grandchildren, one brother in Idaho and a sister in South Dakota also survive.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock for Mrs. Margaret Mattsen, who died at the home of her son, Carsten Petersen, Wednesday morning, aged 69 years.

A son, Christy Petersen, who is with Battery A, is expected to arrive home today.

The Rev. Hugo Grimm will have charge of the services.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon for the late Mrs. Margaret Mattsen, at the home of her son, Carsten Petersen on Jefferson avenue the Rev. Grimm of Lyons officiating.

The pallbearers were Holk Volkers, Martin Meyers, Henry Weinbeck, Claus Franzen, Henry Dreller, Henry Lorenzen.
