At the family home, 607 Second avenue, occurred the death of John Langham at 3:30 o'clock Monday afternoon. Mr. Langham had not been well for the past two years, but was confined to his bed only the last few weeks. Death was due to a complication of diseases.
John Terry Langham was born in Lockport, N.Y. Aug. 29th, 1851. His parents came west when he was still a small boy and located on a farm one mile from what is now Elwood, Iowa. In 1884 he was married to Miss Anna Smith, also of Elwood, Ia., living in the old homestead until 1890, then moving to Clinton, where he has since lived. He was a man of quiet disposition, who loved his home, and was well liked by all who knew him.
He leaves to mourn his death, his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Bert Burlingame, of Clinton; one son, Lee, of Clinton; two grandchildren, his aged mother, still living in Elwood; one sister, Mrs. T. M. Corson, of Clinton, and two brothers, George of Anderson, Ia., and Will of Elwood, Ia.
The funeral will be held at the late home, 607 Second avenue, at 2:30 Thursday afternoon. Interment at Springdale cemetery.

Funeral services for the late John Langham were held Thursday afternoon from the home, 607 Second avenue.
Rev. Nye had charge of the funeral service. Mrs. Phillips sang "Asleep in Jesus" and "Perfect Day".
The pall bearers were Dale Shepard, Geo. Gast, John McCone, Geo. Sewell, W. A. Pierce and Wm. Wakefield.
Relatives from out of town were his aged mother, Mrs. Langham from Elwood, Ia., brother Will and daughter, Blanche, and Mrs. Bert Cornish, all of Elwood; Miss Ann Langham of Maquoketa; his brother George of Anderson, Ia. Interment was in Springdale cemetery.
