page 6August J. C. Paasch, aged 62 years, died at his home three miles southwest of Goose Lake, Sunday evening at 9 o'clock after an illness of four years with a complication of diseases.
Deceased was born September 4, 1854 in Pemmirania, Germany. In 1878 he came to Clinton county. December 23, 1880 he was married to Miss Emilie Seelke of this city. Eleven children were born to this union, one daughter, Mrs. Martha Hebeler, dying in the year 1905. He was a highly respected resident of Clinton county and had a large number of friends who will regret to learn of his death.
He is survived by seven daughters, Mrs. Ida Morey, of Clinton, Mrs. Anna Mess of Worth County, Iowa, Mrs. Ella Drews of Lyons, and the Misses Albertine, Laupa and Alma at home; also three sons, Adolph, Henry and Arnold at home; twelve grand children, two brothers, Carl Paasch of Clinton and Wilhelm of Germany.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 12 o'clock with short services at his late home and the funeral sermon preached at St. John's Lutheran church at 1:30 o'clock by Rev. Hugo Grimm. Interment will be made in Oakland cemetery.
