page 3Mrs. Mary Woods, mother of Mrs. Rose Dillon of Clinton, passed away Saturday night at 9 o'clock after an illness of six years, during which time she has been confined to her bed.
Mrs. Woods was 104 years old. She was born in the city of Cork, Ireland, in 1812, and came to America when she was just a small child. Clinton has been her home for more than fifty years. Mr. Woods died 15 years ago, and since that time Mrs. Woods has made her home with her only daughter at 1013 South Fourth street.
The only other survivors are a niece, Mrs. Charles Babcock, Aurora, Ill., and a nephew, Dave Bailey of Chicago, who have come to attend the funeral, which will be held at St. Mary's church Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock.

page 7Funeral services were held this morning at St. Mary's church for Mrs. Mary Woods, who had reached the age of 104. The Rev. Father E. J. McLaughlin preached the funeral sermon, and burial was made in St. Mary's cemetery. The pallbearers were Mike Dyer, Ed Hooks, Tom Hooks, John Kirnan, James Woods and Charles Woods.
Mrs. Woods died Saturday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Rose Dillon, with whom she had made her home since the death of her husband 15 years ago.
She was born in Cork, Ireland, in 18;12, and came to America when a small child. For the last six years Mrs. Woods had been sick and unable to leave her bed.
Out-of-town relatives and friends who attended the funeral are: Mrs. Ellen Kelly, Dixon, Ill.; Mrs. Charles Babcock, Aurora, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Dave Bailey, Chicago; Miss Paula Spellissey, DeWitt; Mrs. Badger, Fulton; Mrs. Rose Dillon, Chicago.
