After an illness of some few weeks Claus Carlsen passed away at the home of his son, Louis, 805 South Ninth street, Friday evening. Deceased was born in Denmark, Sept. 7, 1840 and came to this country about 46 years ago, coming almost direct to Lyons where he resided until his death.

Claus Carlsen was well known in this city having been employed for a number of years at the Joyce Lumber Mills here when they were in operation. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lena Hansen and Mrs. Mary Antonsen, both of Alexandria, Minn., two sons, Chris and Louis of this city and two brothers, Peter C. Carlsen of St. Paul, Minn. and Louis of Minneapolis, Minn., also seven grandchildren.

The funeral will be held Monday afternoon at two o'clock from the home of Louis Carlsen on South Ninth street and burial will be made in Oakland cemetery.

The funeral services for the late Claus Carlsen were held this afternoon from the Louis Carlsen home on South Ninth stree4t, with Rev. R. C. Keagy of the Methodist church in charge. Burial was made in Oakland cemetery.

The body of the late Claus Carlsen was laid to rest in Oakland cemetery Monday afternoon. Services were conducted at the home of the deceased man's son, Louis on South Ninth street by the Rev. R. C. Keagy of the Methodist Episcopal church.

The pall bearers were: N. P. Work, N. Thomsen, C. Wulf, N. Nusbaum, P. C. Wulf and P. Clausen.
