page 6Mr. and Mrs. John Tigh of South Fifth street have the sympathy of their many friends for the death of their 2-year-old daughter, LaVerle Ellen, who died Saturday evening, August 6, after an illness of but twenty-five hours.
The little girl was suddenly taken ill Friday evening and lapsed into unconsciousness, in which state she passed away. Complications were given as the cause of her death.
LaVerle Tigh was born June 27 and though she was very young at the time of her death, she will be deeply mourned by her little sister Dolorosa and her parents, together with her little playmates.
When she was taken ill, a physician was called, also a trained nurse, both using every known method to save the life of the little girl, but all was in vain and she died Saturday evening at 7:10. Before her death, however, she was baptized with her sister.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 from the home, 611 South Fifth street, and burial will be in Oakland cemetery. The services will be in charge of Rev. Rogers.
Among those from out of town here for the funeral are Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Gorham of Boone, Ia., Mrs. H. M. Scott of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. George Holsapple of Rock Island, Ill. and Mrs. Jane Pacey, of Seattle, Wash.
