Word was received here this morning of the death of John G. Helfert at White Pigeon, Mich., which occurred Thursday. Mr. Helfert is a brother of George Helfert of Elk River and lived in this vicinity for a number of years. He was born near Hauntown and at the time of his death was about 45 years of age.

The remains will be brought to Clinton Sunday morning at eight o'clock and will be taken directly to Oakland cemetery where burial will be made.

Rev. N. A. McAulay will conduct a short service at the grave of the deceased.

Particulars of the death of Mr. Helfert have not as yet been received so it is not known whether he had been ill or not. The news of his death brought sorrow to his many friends here.

The body of the late John G. Helfert arrived here Sunday morning from White Pigeon, Mich., where he died last Thursday. Rev. N. A. McAulay conducted a service at the grave and burial was in Oakland cemetery. The body was taken direct from the depot to the cemetery.

Pallbearers were Mike Gaffney, Ed Struve, John Struve, Hans Heldt, Henry Kramer, Anthony Mulligan.
