Mrs. Emma Holk, nee Neibuhr, a former well known resident of Lyons, died Thursday morning at her home in Lincoln, Neb., at the age of 54 years, according to word received in this city.

Deceased was born Sept. 11, 1861, in Holstein, Germany. On May 29th, 1888, with her parents and sisters and brothers came to Lyons. In 1881 she was married to Martin Martinsen. One daughter was born to this union. They lived in Shelby county and in Lyons for many years. In May, 1912, her husband passed away in Lyons. In January, 1914 the deceased was married to William Holk of Lincoln, Neb., where she has made her home ever since.

On July 8th Mrs. Holk had the misfortune to fall down cellar at her home, striking on a cement floor, injuring her head and breaking two of her ribs. Her death was the result of the fall.

She is survived by her husband, William Holk, one daughter, Mrs. Lucy Jordan, of Manilla, Iowa; two brothers, William Neibuhr of Lyons and Gustav Neibuhr of Seattle, Was., and two grandchildren.

The remains will be brought to Lyons Sunday morning and taken to the home of Mrs. Nick Martinsen, 510 North Seventh street, from which place the funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Short services will be held at the home and the funeral sermon will be preached at St. John's Lutheran church by Rev. Hugro Grimm. Interment will be made in Oakland cemetery.
