page 6Mrs. Hattie Hunt, mother of Mrs. T. S. Walrod, 237 Second avenue, died at the home of her daughter Wednesday night, following a brief illness.
Mrs. Hunt, who had been in poor health for some time, was brought to Clinton from her home in Pocahontas two weeks ago. She is 52 years of age. Left to mourn her death are one other daughter and three sons. They are Mrs. Frank Carson, William F. and Robert P. of Pocahontas, and Leroy Farrington of Calmar, Iowa. The funeral arrangements were not announced today.

To come back to her old home to spend her last few days where she was born, was the request granted to Mrs. Hattie C. Hunt, who died Wednesday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Maud Walrod, 237 Second avenue. Mrs. Hunt's home was in Pocahontas, Iowa, where she has been sick seven years. Two weeks ago she was brought to Clinton on a cot by her children, and was taken to her daughter's home just across the street from the place of her birth. Here she enjoyed the rest until last Saturday she became unconscious and did not rally again, death coming peacefully at twilight Wednesday.Mrs. Hattie Hunt was born in Clinton in February, 1864. She lived in this county until after her marriage to George Farrington in 1880, when they removed to South Dakota, later to Minnesota, and back to Iowa, settling in Deep River and later at Pocahontas. She was married to Mr. Hunt in 1890.
Left to mourn her death are her aged father, E. E. Corbett, Deep River; five children, four grand children and eight brothers and sisters.
The children are Mrs. Maud Walrod, Roy Farrington, Palmer, Robert, William and Mrs. Marian Parsons, Pocahontas. The brothers and sisters are Mrs. Corbett, Fulton, Ill., Mrs. Flora Odlin, Deep River; Mrs. Lucia Hufford, Charter Oak; Smith Corbett, Morristown, S.D.; Mrs. Luella Gault, Charlotte, Emory Corbett, Cowichan Lake, Van Couver Island, B.C., Orlin Corbett, Trosky, Minn., and Mrs. T. M. Perkins, Chicago Heights, who was visiting her daughter, Mrs. Emil Flindt and was with her mother at the time of her death.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon in charge of the Rev. C. L. Nye of the First Methodist church. The body will be taken to the old home at Deep River at 10 o'clock tonight and laid to rest in the family lot. All the children from out of the city are here, and will accompany the body back home.
