Charlotte, Iowa, July 8--The remains of the late Mrs. Peter Petersen who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Peter Lamp at Mapleton, Ia., arrived here Monday morning and was taken to the home of Mrs. Anna Lamp.

Mrs. Christine Petersen (born) Matthies, was born in Friedricksheide, Schleswig, Holstein, Germany May 17, 1837. She was married to Peter Petersen April 3, 1857, who passed away 25 years ago the young couple came to this country right after their marriage. They located near Goose Lake, where they resided till the death of Mr. Petersen. She then made her home with her son, Henry for 7 years. For the past 18 ;years she has lived with her daughter, Mrs. Peter Lamp at Mapleton. She was the mother of nine children of whom 3 survive namely: Mrs. Peter Lamp, of Mapleton, Iowa; Henry Petersen of Low Moor and Peter Petersen of Goose Lake. The other six children died in infancy. She also leaves eighteen grand children and four great grand children.

The funeral was held from the Lutheran church at 1 o'clock Monday afternoon. Burial took place at the Ingwersen cemetery, Rev. Jobst officiating. The pall bearers were Henry Schumacher, Herman Monmsen, Theo. Gohlman, Martin Boothby, J. C. Naevge and Chas. Mangelsen.

The remains were accompanied by the following relatives from Mapleton, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Lamp, Mr. and Mrs. Theo Schoenjahn and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. F. Wilson.
