Ed Judge died yesterday afternoon at his home in southeast DeWitt, having been ill for many months with pernicious anaemia. He was born in Elvira August 9, 1850, and is survived by his wife and three children, Mrs. T. J. Scanlan of Manchester, and J. E. and J. W. of Mitchell, South Dakota, one daughter, Mrs. John Shea, having passed away a few months ago. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Mary Hosack of Clinton, and three brothers, Steve of Minot, South Dakota, John of Lyons and Pat of DeWitt. Mr. Judge was at one time one of eastern Iowa's most successful auctioneers until failing health compelled his retirement.

The funeral will be held Friday morning at 9 o'clock, with services at St. Joseph's church, followed by interment in the Catholic cemetery here.

The funeral of the late Edw Judge was held Friday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Joseph's church conducted by Rev. J. J. Nelson. Friends of the family who acted as pall bearers were James Cassidy, Matt Mulholland, James Gilooly, Chas McDevitt, Peter Mangan and John Britt. Interment was made in St. Joseph's cemetery.

Mr. Judge was born in Dubuque August 8, 1850, and moved to Clinton county with his parents when 2 years old. On April 14, 1879, he was married in St. Irenaeus church in Lyons to Mary A. Duffy. To them were born several children, three of whom are living: Mrs. T. J. Scanlan of Manchester, Jas. E. Judge and John W. Judge of Mitchell, S.D.

Many out of town people attended the funeral, among whom were: Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Scanlan of Manchester; J. J. Duffy, Vail; P. B. Wolfe, Mr. and Mrs. John Hoosack and Misses Margaret and Nell Scanlan, Clinton; John W. Judge and Miss Catherine McKenna, Lyons; John Farrell and Miss Margaret Dolan, Charlotte; Wm. Noel, Noel's Station; Peter Lynch and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Martins, Grand Mound; Mrs. Jas. Judge and daughter, Helen, Elvira.
