page 6George McCune died at 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon at the home of Fred Mathews after an illness of three months. He was born Jan. 15, 1864 near Mt. Pleasant, Henry county, Iowa. The most of his life was spent in the southern part of Nebraska. Last July he came to live at the home of Fred Mathews. He had worked for the Northwestern until the time of sickness, which continued over three months.
He had no living relatives. Interment will be made at Springdale cemetery.

page 6The funeral of the late George McCune was held Sunday afternoon from the Estabrooks chapel on Second street, Rev. G. R. Cady, pastor of the First Congregational church, officiating. Interment was in Springdale cemetery. Mr. McCune passed away at the home of Fred Mathews, 314 Grand avenue, where he had made his home since last July. For 40 years the deceased had lived with Mr. Mathews' father, W. L. Mathews, at Nebraska City, Neb. Mr. Mathews passed away last July, and his son brought the old gentleman to Clinton and gave him a home until his death. Mr. McCune leaves no relatives.
