6 March 1916 - The Clinton Advertiser

This morning at 7:40 o'clock occurred the death of Mrs. Magdalena Marx, widow of the late Theodore Marx, who died some seventeen years ago.

Magdalena Behrbach was born in Neideraldorf, Alsace, Germany, Nov. 23, 1837, and came to this country in 1855, settling at Galena, Ill., where she was united in marriage to Theodore Marx, Dec. 10, 1857, and shortly after came to Lyons, where she has since resided at 617 South Sixth street.

Mrs. Marx, having lived here for a number of years, was well known in this community, where she has many friends who will be grieved to learn of her sudden death. She was taken sick last Saturday with bronchial trouble, but was not thought to be dangerously ill. However, death came this morning due to her illness and advanced age.

Mrs. Marx was the mother of eleven children and is survived by the following: Mrs. Josephine Feddersen, Miss Rose Marx, Joseph and Frank Marx, ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The funeral will be held Thursday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Boniface church, with burial in St. Boniface cemetery.
