DeWitt, Oct. 9 -- This article is almost totally illegible but I could make out that Oliver Wardlow of DeWitt had died at a Dubuque hospital and the body had arrived at DeWitt. Oliver had went to Epworth college and was doing well. He was twenty-three years old. It says something about the soldiers' orphan home when he was sixteen and then someone worked at Big Rock several years. I think there are no relatives and Mr. Cox will have charge of the arrangements.

DeWitt, Oct 10 -- The funeral of ?? Wardlow was conducted from ? M. E. church at 3:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon and
Rev. J. K. ?? preached the funeral sermon. ?? members of James Shiffr, jr's ?? school class acted as pall-bearers and George M. Smith, Wm. ?? and the Mises Eva and Grace ?? sang several hymns.

(I know this is kind of disappointing but maybe there is enough info here for someone to make a connection.)
