Al Spain passed away at 8:05 o'clock Thursday morning at the residence, 609 Eleventh avenue, following a long illness of tuberculosis with which he had been confined to his bed since June. No definite funeral arrangements have been made as yet but the body is to be removed to Charlotte for interment.
Mr. Spain would have been 31 years of age in November and was born in Petersville. When a young man he moved to Seattle, Wash., and in October 1908 was married. He moved to Clinton a year ago last December and had been a resident of Clinton since.
There are left to mourn his death: his bereaved wife, and mother Mrs. Catharine O'Farrel of Petersville and two brothers, Edward and Joseph of Petersville.

Private funeral services for the late Al Spain were held Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the late residence 609 Eleventh avenue. Rev. G. R. Cady of the Congregational church officiated at the services and the remains were taken on the 5 o'clock Northwestern train to Petersville. At 9 o'clock Saturday services in the Petersville Catholic church are to be held with interment in the Petersville cemetery.
