LITTLE CHILD PASSES AWAY
MARGUERITE GLADYS HILL DIES AFTER THREE DAYS DURATION
FUNERAL MONDAY
Death Was Sudden as Child Was Only Ill Three Days -- Was Unconscious Until the End -- Was a Favorite With All Who Knew Her -- Grandmother Hill Unable to Attend Funeral.

As briefly stated in Saturday's Herald the sad death of Marguerite Gladys Hill, better known to her numerous friends as Baby Hill, occurred Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Mulligan, 202 South Fourth street, where she and her mother have made their home since the death of her father the late Raymond B. Hill, who died in San Bernardino, California, less than five months ago.
Baby Hill was suddenly taken ill at 3 o'clock Thursday morning. Medical aid was immediately summoned and everything possible was done for her but she lapsed into unconsciousness from which she never awoke. The immediate cause of her death was enterites and convulsions.
Marguerite Gladys was born in Bloomington, Ill., June 14, 1910, making her three years old and four months at the time of her sudden death which was a terrible shock to her mother, following closely after the demise of her husband.
Baby Hill was an exceptionally bright child for her age and was a universal favorite with all and will be sadly missed in the Mulligan home where little Marguerite ruled supreme.
The floral tributes were many and beautiful and a beautiful robe which was placed over the body was made and given by the Purcell sisters.
The grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Hill, of San Bernardino, California, were unable to attend, as the news of the death was such a shock to Mrs. Hill that she was taken ill and was unable to make the trip.
The funeral took place at the family residence at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon, followed by funeral services at St. Irenaeus church where many friends were in attendance. The following little girls, friends of the deceased, attended the casket: Venita Cahill, Helen Gradert, Josephine Purcell and Agnetta Schneider. Burial took place in Calvary cemetery.
Mrs. Theodore Koch and Mrs. John Halier of Freeport, Ill., were here to attend the funeral.
