MRS. H. MANNING DIES SUDDENLY
MRS. HERMAN MANNING DROPS DEAT AT HER HOME IN NORTH SEVENTH STREET MONDAY EVENING.
FUNERAL THURSDAY
Deceased Was a Life Long Resident Of this County -- Resident of this City Six Years -- Though the Arrangements are not Fully Completed, the Funeral Will Be Held Thursday.

Friends throughout this community were shocked to hear of the death of Mrs. Herman Manning, a life long resident of this county, who died suddenly at her home, 801 North Seventh street, at 8:45 o'clock Monday evening.
Mrs. Manning had been in the best of health, having been driving with her husband in the country most of the day. Returning she partook of a hearty meal as usual, and was still sitting at the table with other members of the family, discussing the day's trip when suddenly she was seized with a nauseating spell and expired in her chair instantly.
Sophie Dettermann was born in this county December 3, 1857, making her fifty-six years of age at the time of her death. She was united in marriage to Herman Manning February 16, 1876, at the old home in Dettermann's settlement. About six years ago they moved to this city where they resided since.
The deceased is survived by the following, her husband, five daughters, Mrs. August Dettermann, Mrs. Joseph Gunther, Mrs. John Manning, Miss Loretta Manning in this city and Mrs. Minnie Gunther of Davenport, also her step-father, Joseph Dettermann, one brother, William Dettermann of Carroll, Iowa, two sisters, Mrs. Christine Kert of Bellevue and Mrs. Anton Claussen, residing near this city.
The funeral will take place Thursday, the exact time not definitely known at this time.

The funeral of the late Mrs. Herman Manning took place Thursday morning from St. Boniface Church. Burial was in the German Catholic cemetery.
