Mrs. Mary Whalen, aged 74 years, widow of Thomas Whalen died at 12:40 o'clock Saturday noon at her residence 5?9 Second avenue, her death following an illness of about six months duration and the result of a complication of ailments. Funeral services are to be held at 9 o'clock Monday morning at St. Patrick's church.
The deceased was born in Queen's county Ireland. Her husband passed away about fifteen years ago. Left to mourn her death are four sons and three daughters as follows: ? H. of Long Grove, Iowa, John, Frank and Charles of Clinton, Mrs. Phillip Goff, Miss Mary Whalen and Mrs. G. T. Moran. Two brothers, John Doon of Chicago and Dennis Doon of Cedar Rapids are also left in addition to fourteen grand children and one great grandchild.

Funeral services were held at 9 o'clock Monday morning at St. Patrick's church for the late Mrs. Mary Whalen. The body was interred in St. Mary's cemetery. The pall-bearers were J. Holleran, P. J. Hooliban, J. Behan, J. McGonegle, Mr. McCormick and Mr. Long.
