Timothy Conner passed away Wednesday afternoon at 2:45 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Margaret Small, 107 Sixth street. Mr. Conner had been an invalid for the past four years and his death is thought to have been the result of old age as he would have been 80 years old next March. Funeral services are to be held Saturday morning at 8 o'clock at St. Patrick's church. Rev. James A. Murray is to officiate at the services and interment will take place at Holy Cross cemetery.
Mr. Connor was born in Ireland and at the age of 16 years he came to this country and settled in Chicago where he went into the lumber business with two brothers. Later he came to Clinton and was foreman in the lumber years here for many years. Mr. Connor was a veteran of the civil war and served through the war as private in the 34th Illinois infantry. He was very thoughtful and kind to all and an example of clean honest manhood.
For the past four years during his invalidism he had been nursed by his daughter, Mrs. Small and he was a very patient sufferer. He was preceded in death ten years ago by his wife and son and ?? ?? left to mourn his death are his children Mrs. Margaret ??, John Connor and P. J. Connor all of Clinton.
