29 March 1916 - The Clinton Advertiser

Lost Nation, Iowa, March 29--Mrs. Lina Mohl, nee Burrichter, was born Nov. 18, 1881, in Sharon township, about 4 miles from Lost Nation. When three years old she moved with her parents to Monticello where she spent her girlhood and grew to womanhood. She was married to Carl Mohl June 3rd, 1903. To this union were born four children, Arthur, Olga, Alve and Marvin. Her final illness began about three weeks ago although she had not been well all winter. It has been erroneously rumored that quick consumption was the cause of her death. The cause was a complication of diseases. She leaves to mourn beside her husband and children, her aged mother, three sisters and seven brothers. She was at her death 34 years, 4 months and three days old, just in the prime of life and when she was most necessary to her little ones. The funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Lutheran church. Rev. Vollmer took for his text, 1 Corinthians, 54-55 "Death is swallowed up in victory, O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." The message of the sermon and of the choir was one of consolation. The church could not hold the neighbors and friends who had come to pay their last tribute to this good mother, wife and sister whom God had called home so early to rest from her labors. The floral tributes were beautiful and lavish. Interment was made in the Lost Nation cemetery, the pall bearers, Chas. Schoff, John Wulf, Henry Kegabine, Edward Myatt, John Hunawartsen and Wm. Haak. The relatives attending from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Emil Burrichter, Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Burrichter, Mr. and Mrs. Will Burrichter, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Burrichter, Mrs. Fred Burrichter, Mr. and Mrs. Brazelton of Monticello, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Mohl and John Mohl of Davenprt, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Stroffregon of Fayette and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Mohl of Wheatland.
