John Schmitz, a resident of Clinton for over 35 years, died at Agatha's hospital at 4 o'clock this morning after a lingering illness.
He was 86 years old, having been born in Germany, and moved to this country while a young man. Surviving him are his wife and five sons: H. B. Schmitz, of Kansas City; Herbert of Chicago; Freeman, of Davenport; Henry, of Lincoln; and Willis of Lyons.
