Page 10Mrs. Viola Rasmussen, passed ?? Tuesday after ?? at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Knutsen, 704 North Second street. She was taken ill suddenly at about 7 o'clock Tuesday morning with a stroke which caused her death. Funeral services are to be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Knutsen at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon, Rev. C. L. Nye is to officiate at the services and interment will take place in Springdale cemetery.
Mrs. Rasmussen was 70 years of age and was born in Mansfield, Ohio. She came to Iowa at the age of thirteen years, settled near Miles and moved to Clinton in 1873, at the time when she was married Mr. Rasmussen and lived in Clinton until the time of Mr. Rasmussen's death, April 5, 1885.
For the past few years Mrs. Rasmussen had been living with her son in California, but of late had been making her home with Mr. and Mrs. Knutsen. She was a member of the First Methodist church of Miles and had always been a diligent church worker.
There are left to mourn her death one adopted daughter, Mrs. Harry Wilson of Miles and three brothers, Elias Dougal of Dunlap, I?; Alonzo Dougal of Panama, Ia; and George Dougal of California.

Page 5Funeral services for the late Mrs. Viola Rasmussen, who passed away at the home of A. P. Wallberg, 676 Eleventh avenue, Tuesday afternoon, were held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Knutsen, 704 North Second street, where the body was later moved. Rev. C. L. Nye officated at the services and interment took place in Springdale cemetery. The pallbearers were: W. J. Wilson of Miles, Albert Durant of Preston, Robert Nichols, Charles Nelson, Martin Pierce and Hans Pierce.
