Albany, Ill., Sept. 15 -- The death of Joseph Jordan, an esteemed and prominent resident of this city, occurred at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Mayo Bros. hospital at Rochester, Minn. The remains arrived here this morning over the Chicago & Northwestern via. Fulton. Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.

Mr. Jordan went to Rochester about two weeks ago, accompanied by Mrs. Jordan, and their daughter, Mrs. J. A. Parker. Thursday afternoon he underwent a surgical operation and was doing seemingly nicely until just a short time before his death when he was taken suddenly and almost without warning much worse and passed away shortly.

Surviving is the widow, two sons, Roy and Lee of this city and one daughter, Mrs. Bertha Parker. He also is survived by his aged father and mother, two brothers, John and Andrew of Clinton, and a sister, Mrs. Hayes of Davenport. He was about 65 years old.
