Marie Frett was born February 25, 1918 in Clinton to August and Veronica (Reuter) Frett. She graduated from Our Lady of Angels Academy, June 2, 1936. She worked at Curtis Companies from 1937 to 1944. During World War II she worked at the Naval Research Laboratories, Washington, D.C.

She was an avid bridge player, played in circles, marathons and belonged to the Clinton Boat Club. She liked being with relatives, friends and volunteering. One of the joys of her later life in Clinton was going to breakfast with a group of ladies after daily weekday Mass. She also enjoyed being part of the Alter and Rosary Society at church.

She married Leo M. Salutz, April 5, 1945. He died February 1, 1990. She is survived by six children, Mary Beth (Ken) Wejman, Glenview, IL, James (Margaret Brandl) Salutz, Rochester, MN, Jean Salutz, Tempe, AZ, Marian Salutz, Phoenix, AZ, Margaret Salutz, Minneapolis, MN, and Janice (Lee) Pate, Newport, OR, eight grandchildren, Jennifer, John (Brandi), Joseph (Jill) Wejman, Emily Brandl-Salutz (Matt Schuelka), Michael Salutz, Carter and Carson Pate, five great grandchildren, Emerson, Julianna, Cooper Wejman, AJ Wejman and William Schuelka. She is also survived by three brothers, Clarence (Frances), Marion, IA, Leo (Kathleen), Moline, IL, and Arthur (Glenna) Frett, Clinton and one sister, Teresa (Clay-deceased) Dullum, Apache Junction, AZ.

She married John M. Conery, December 28, 2000. He died October 27, 2005. She is survived by five step-grandchildren, eight step-great grandchildren and a step daughter-in-law, Merilyn Conery.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, five brothers, Francis, Vincent, Edward, Ray, Robert and August Frett and three sisters, Lucille Mallinger, Joan Forbish and Alice Kurtz
