Charlie Hansen Found Dead in a
Miserable HovelIn a small dinky shanty on Eightieth Avenue some boys discovered the lifeless body of Charley Hansen, Saturday, lying cold and ghastly on a pile of straw.
Hanson had been a bachelor and had lived alone in the miserable hovel were his lifeless remains were found. During the past three or four days the neighbors had noticed his absence from about the premises, and yesterday two or three boys entered the house where his body was discovered.
The police were at once notified and Chief Donnelly and Capt. Moran went down to investigate, after which they notified Coroner Meyers, who, after reviewing the remains, concluded that an inquest was not necessary, as everything pointed to the fact that death resulted from natural causes.
Deceased was familiarly known as “Happy Charley,” and came to this city several years ago from Morrison, Ill. He is reported to have been quite wealthy. A. H. Paddock was appointed guardian several years ago and he will attend to the funeral arrangements.
