Everett Lee Gib Rich, age 90, passed away on Tuesday May 16, 2017 at West Wing Place in DeWitt. There will be a private family graveside service at Pine Hill Cemetery in Wheatland at a later date. Chapman Funeral Home, Wheatland is assisting the family.
Gib was born August 18, 1926 to Peter and Margaret Wulby Rich in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. He married Greta Baccon on August 18, 1951 at Davenport. She passed away on June 1, 1997.
Survivors include his daughter Nelli (Douglas) Medinger of Camanche; son Gibby of Newport Richey, FL.; 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parentsGib; wife; son Mickey; daughter Velma; granddaughter Heather; 6 brothers and 4 sisters.
Gib served his country in WWII in the Army and was a former member of the Wheatland Legion. He was a firefighter for 20 years before becoming an auxiliary firefighter for Wheatland. Gib was an avid Cardinals baseball fan and card player, loved to garden and also mow the lawn.
Memorials may be given to West Wing Place in honor of the great care they gave Gib.
