Joseph F. Schillinger, 77, of Clinton, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017 at his home Clinton.
Funeral Services are being privately held at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory. Burial will be in St. Marys Cemetery in Chicago at a later date.
Joseph Frederick Schillinger was born April 5, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Joseph and Violet (Nelson) Schillinger. He graduated from De La Salle High School. He earned a Bachelors Degree in History from the University of Iowa. He married Mary Lee Baker on July 2, 1960 in Chicago, Illinois.
Joseph enjoyed fishing, movies, gardening and was an avid reader. He loved traveling in the car and time spent with his family. He will be truly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife Lee Schillinger of Clinton; one daughter Sue (Schillinger) Mannix of Bettendorf; two grandchildren: Jeffrey (Brittany) Mannix of Iowa City and Sarah (Bill Hoke) Mannix of Iowa City; one great granddaughter: Margaret Grace Mannix; and his mother: Violet (Nelson) Schillinger.
Joseph was preceded in death by his father and his one son: Jeffrey Joseph Schillinger.
