Janice A. Hake, age 78 of Clinton, passed away Monday, April 24, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center North. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. Friday, April 28, 2017 at the Pape Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 3:00 P.M. Those attending are encouraged to dress casual, per Janices wishes. Following the service cremation rites will be accorded with burial to take place at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday at Oakland Cemetery.
Janice was born in Clinton on November 10, 1938, the daughter of Louis and Grace (Sorenson) Kirst. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1958. Janice married Robert Hake on July 11, 1958 at Zion Lutheran Church, Clinton. She had been employed at Kens Korner, Burpee Seed Company and Target. She was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church where she had taught Sunday school, and a member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren, collecting Beanie Babies, watching TV, especially QVC, and being on the computer.
Janice is survived by her husband, Robert; three sons, Mark (Kay) Hake of Clinton, Richard (Kathryn) Hake of Overland Park, KS and Jeffery (Beverly) Hake of Moulton, AL; ten grandchildren, Drew, Darron, Dolan, Benjamin, Austin, Jeffery, Jr., Jordan, Kristyn, Kyle and Kelsey; ten great grandchildren and two sisters, Jean (Walter) Austin of Lake Placid, FL and Joan Beyers of Elizabeth, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Lisa on August 23, 2010. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.
