Wheatland - Delores F. Heilmann, age 96, passed away on Wednesday March 22, 2017 at Genesis West Medical Center in Davenport. Funeral services will be on Monday March 27, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden with Rev. Daniel Redhage officiating. Visitation will be at Chapman Funeral Home in Wheatland on Sunday March 26, 2017 from 2-4 p.m. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
Delores was born on December 13, 1920 in Dunkerton, Iowa to Carl and Eva Jensen Hein. She married Paul Heilmann on June 26, 1940 at Fairbank, Iowa. He passed away on September 3, 2006.
Survivors include her sons Darrell (Janis) of Blue Grass, IA. and David (Cindy) of Gooselake, IA.; 7 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sister Miriam "Petey" Heilmann; and special friends Harvey and Brenda.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother-in-laws Robert Heilmann, A.E. "Fritz" Heilmann; and sister-in-law Eleanor Northrup.
Delores worked at McGee and Edison drug stores for years. She was a huge Cubs and Hawkeye fan. She liked lilies, doing crafts with Eleanor, quilting, and the bell choir with Pearl directing. Delores was an exceptional homemaker and was dedicated to taking care of her husband Paul. She also crocheted her own dish towels, and loved her family dearly.
