The Death of Bonny Young

On Friday afternoon, after a brief illness, Bonny C. Young bade adieu to all earthly scenes and his spirit freed went onward and upward to a home that know no sorrow nor tears. Cut off in the very hey-day of his youth, just as the glories of young manhood were fairly insight and almost within reach, just when life is the brightest and it promises full of the keenest pleasures, and when the tendons who hold one to earth are the strongest, and when the loved ones at home are the lividest and the dear ones of earthy are the dearest. Bonny Young was beckoned by the Master and angels to follow Him and then into the undimmed and undying joys of life beyond the skies. His little life here had just fairly rounded the eighteen years which had chased each other. Oh, so rapidly, and he was looking ahead, oh, so fondly and anxiously when the time he could grasp some of the stern realities of matured growth, and show himself a man while yet a boy, when all too soon the summons came. Who dare say the event called death shall end the hopes, the joys, the aspirations, the ambitions, which God caused to thrill in that living soul?

Bonny Young was a favorite among all who knew him. His death has caused pain in hundreds of hearts outside the family circle. His funeral which occurred on Sunday was largely attended by loving associates. The services were conducted by the Rev. S. C. Bronson of the Methodist Episcopal Church, assisted by the Rev. Wilson Denny of the Congregational Church. Flowers in profusion, the offerings of schoolmates and friends of the deceased, bedecked the open casket. The pallbearers were Russell McCoy, Frank Ellis, C. E. Dixon, Lyman Ellis, C. H. Young, and E. H. Sabin. The remains rest in the lovely Springdale Cemetery.
