The Clinton Age, Clinton, Iowa, January 27, 1888

On Wednesday morning Susie, the very loveable little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rumble, after suffering a siege of rheumatism, passed over the dark river into the presence of the heavenly Father and the heavenly host. The dear girl was a little more than ten years old, and she was the pride of the parents and the joy of the home. Death leaves a shining mark, and how often it is brought to our notice that he can make the selection with consummate skill. The parents of little Susie can find consolation in their faith in that Divinity which teaches that God never errs. Christ took little children “up in his arms, put His hands upon them, and blessed them” and declared that “of such is the kingdom of God.”

The funeral will take place from the residence of Fred Rumble, Ringwood, at 2 o’clock this afternoon.
