The Clinton Age, Clinton, Iowa, June 1, 1883

Muffled Drums

While the veterans were hurrying hither and thither to decorate the graves of the fallen, one of their comrades Capt. Joseph Agin, was passing to the command beyond. He leaves a wife and five children to mourn his loss of a kind husband and indulgent father. All Clinton mourns the loss of one of their most highly esteemed citizens.

Capt. Agin served all through the war with clear and honorable record, in the army and navy, and participated in some of the hardest fought battles of the war.

The funeral occurred yesterday afternoon under the auspices of Emulation Lodge, A. F. & A. M.
