Wayne G. Wilke, age 84, of Clinton, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Big Meadows Nursing Home in Savanna. In following Wayne's wishes cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no visitation or services. Burial will be at a later date in Oakland Cemetery. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Wayne was born in Clinton on April 3, 1932, the son of George L. and Erma (Tolson) Wilke. He graduated from Clinton High School and served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Wayne married Mildred Thompson on April 15, 1956 in Clinton. He was employed at E.I. DuPont for 35 years, retiring in 1989. Wayne was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. He enjoyed feeding and watching the birds, flower gardening and just puttering around.

Wayne is survived by his wife Mildred; a daughter, Jane (David) Rathje of Miles and a grandson, Joshua Rathje of St. Louis. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son David in 1997.
