Charles E. Bilek, age 61 of Clinton, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2017 in an automobile accident near Fairmont, MN. A Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Prince of Peace Parish. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at Prince of Peace. Following the Mass cremation rites will be accorded with burial at a later date. The Pape Funeral Home in assisting the family.

Chuck was born in Rapid City, South Dakota on March 23, 1955, the son of Emil and Ruth (George) Bilek. At the age of 9 Chuck's mother passed away and he moved to Taylor Falls, MN where he was raised by his grandparents, Virgil and Ellie George. He graduated from Taylor Falls High School. Chuck married Starla Krogman on June 9, 1979 at St. Irenaeus Church in Clinton. He owned and operated The Fireplace Shop/Hometown Kitchen and Bath on Main Ave. for over 30 years. He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish and the Knights of Columbus and had been active with the Boy Scouts. Chuck was a workaholic and a cowboy at heart and loved horses.

Chuck is survived by his wife Starla; children, Amanda Bilek of Davenport and Devin Bilek and Taciana Bilek both at home; sisters, Marilyn (Miles) Stomberg of Hugo, MN, Cindy (Don) Pleau of Siren, WI and Linda (Jim) Hayward of Rapid City, SD and several nieces and nephews.
