Nadine M. Beck, age 69, of Maquoketa, Iowa, died Sunday morning, January 27, 2002 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa, following a short illness related to cancer.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, January 30, 2002 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa, with Rev. Gerald Gjerde of the First Lutheran Church in Maquoketa officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 P.M. on Tuesday, January 29, 2002 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Delmar, Iowa.

Nadine M. Beck was born on December 18, 1932 in Oxford Mills, Iowa to Fred R. Chandler and Bessie May Olson Chandler. She was a graduate of Maquoketa Community High School. She married Claude Beck on June 22, 1953 in Kahoka, Missouri.

Mrs. Beck worked at Hinckley Drug Store in Maquoketa for several years. She then went to work at Carson?s Pharmacy in Maquoketa, for Dale Yoder and Thor Holmgren as a pharmacy assistant. After doing this for several years, Dale Yoder opened up Family Pharmacy and she went to work for him as a pharmacy assistant, retiring in 1998.

She was a member of the Maquoketa Country Club. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and loved golfing- especially with her grandchildren. In her younger years, she had also enjoyed bowling.

She is Survived by: Her Husband- Claude Beck of Maquoketa, IA; 1 Son-Mark(Kendra) Beck of Maquoketa, IA; 2 Grandson?s- Brandon & Bjorn Beck; 2 Sisters- Clara(Mrs. Joe) Cooper of Davenport, IA, & Betty Gravert of Dewitt, IA; & Several Nephews & a Niece. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother & 2 sisters.
