Dr. Kenneth S. Kube, age 81, of Bad Axe, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the Huron County Medical Care Facility. He was born on February 12, 1935, in Clinton, Iowa, son of the late Frederick E. and Adele M. (Miller) Kube.
He graduated from high school in 1953 and received his BA degree at the University of Iowa in 1957. He received his medical degree at the University of Iowa, School of Medicine in 1960. He interned at Hurley Hospital in Flint on from 1960-1961. He finished his residency in Internal Medicine at both Hurley and the University of Michigan from 1961-1964. He joined the United States Air Force in 1964 and served as Captain at the England Air Force Base in Alexandria, Louisiana, where he was Chief of Medicine, Allergy and Radiology. He practiced Internal Medicine in Bad Axe from July of 1966 until his retirement in December of 2000. He was the first doctor in the area to use Cardiac Defibrillation which was at the Hubbard Hospital. Doc farmed for many years as well. He had a great love of the land and enjoyed being outdoors.
Dr. Kube is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara L. (Gross) Kube of Bad Axe; daughter , Kimberly K. (Kube) Herrington of Bad Axe; son, Brian J. Kube and his wife Kelly J. of Bad Axe; six grandchildren, Aibigail (Nicholas) Gucwa of Bad Axe, Aaron Herrington of Bad Axe, Rebecca Herrington of Bad Axe, Sarah Herrington of Caro, Baron Kube of Bad Axe, Katelyn Kube of Bad Axe, three great-grandchildren, Samantha Gucwa of Bad Axe, Bethany Gucwa of Bad Axe and Madison Hewens of Harbor Beach; one brother, Llewellyn Kube of Goose Lake, Iowa; one sister, Adele Kroeger of Clinton, Iowa; and sister-in-law, Doris Kube of LeClaire, Iowa. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
