The Clinton Age, Clinton, Iowa, July 2, 1880

An aged lady, an old time resident, known as Mother Daniels, died at her residence on Ninth Street Saturday, at the ripe old age of 93. Mother Daniels has resided in Clinton for many years, and for the past nineteen years has been a widow. The kind ladies of the Methodist Church looked after her wants and made the old lady comfortable in her declining years. She has no known relatives living, but was immediately cared for in her last moments by Misses Webb who occupy the same house as the deceased.

Mother Daniels was a devout Christian and often remarked cheerfully that she was waiting for the Master to call-she was already to go. The funeral occurred Sunday with services at the Methodist Church and many followed the remains to Oakland Cemetery.
