The Clinton Age, Clinton, Iowa, January 15, 1875

JONES-In this city, January 13th of typhoid fever, Mae S., youngest daughter of Deacon Roys and H. L. Jones, aged 10 years.

It was a pleasure to frequently met Mae in her sports and rambles with one of her loved ones. We knew her as a sprightly, active, sweet tempered little child, and one that her associates loved to play with and be with. We can feel only in a measure how deep the grief, how great the pain, and how keen the sorrow which the parents must experience over the taking away of their darling Mae. To know that she had gone to Him, who said “Suffer little children to come unto Me,” must in some degree quiet the heartache and soothe the sorrowing spirits of parents and brothers and sisters.

We understand the funeral will take place this (Friday) afternoon, from the residence of the family on Seventh Avenue.
